Solapur Smart City Project
About 47 projects were started in the city through Solapur Smart City, out of which 46 projects have been completed.
Out of which 40 projects have been transferred to the Municipal Corporation. Under Smart City,
Indira Gandhi Stadium has been equipped and Ranji matches have been held there. In the future,
efforts will be made to hold IPL matches here. Under Smart City, an Integrated Command and Control
Center has been implemented to keep the city's transport system, solid waste management, disaster management, etc.
services smooth and safe. In this, CCTV, LED lights, garbage collection center vehicles, water supply and distribution
SCADA system, city drainage, fire department and police facilities are being monitored from a single place.
Also, the development work of 14 cremation grounds in the city has been completed through Solapur Municipal
Corporation and Smart City. A 2.7 MW solar project has been started by Solapur Municipal Corporation
through Smart City and various schemes, and so far about 4 crore electricity bills have been saved. Also,
an amount of Rs. 30 lakh is being saved in electricity bills every month.
55490 LED lamps and 3650 new electric poles have been installed in the city through EESL Company and Smart City,
due to which about Rs. 81.20 lakh electricity bills are being saved every month.
The work of reviving the historic and beautiful Indrabhuvan building of the municipal corporation
in the city has been completed under the Smart City scheme. Government offices are functioning as planned at this place.
This building shows a clear influence of the current European styles of the period like Late Baroque or
Rococo with a mixture of Indian elements.
The villa concept popular in Western European countries is evident from the overall features of the building.
