Committees
The Municipal Corporation is made up of directly elected members and nominated members in direct ward elections.
In short, the work of the Municipal Corporation is to approve the budget of the Municipal Corporation, introduce new taxes, change existing taxes, approve policy decisions, supervise administrative work, provide information development plans, infrastructure such as roads, water supply, waste management, etc. The work of these committees is carried out as per the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act and the government's time-bound instructions.
Transport Committee:-
As Solapur Municipal Corporation has established a transport undertaking, the Transport Committee has a total of 12 members and the Chairman of the Standing Committee is an ex-officio member of the Transport Committee, making a total of 13 members.
Standing Committee:-
Out of the members of the Municipal Corporation, 16 members are appointed as Standing Committee members. One of these members is elected as Chairman. The Standing Committee is the executive body of the Municipal Corporation like the Ministry of Finance. This committee has the greatest authority over financial transactions, approval of work, expenditure. The work of these committees is carried out as per the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act and the time-bound instructions of the Government.

- Department of the Chief of Municipal Construction and all questions related thereto.
- Roads, buildings, water supply and waterworks, open
grounds and gardens, fire brigade, workshops, mechanical
engineering branch and other works in the construction department.
- Other questions related to public safety and comfort
- Land and property department and all questions related thereto
- Inspection of works and calling for representations from the Municipal
Commissioner whenever necessary.

City Improvement Committee |
Request for representations from the Commissioner.
All questions regarding general improvements of the city as well as Master Plan, Town Planning Scheme, Industrial Estates, Housing Scheme. |

Medical Assistance and Health Committee |
Municipal Corporation's outpatient clinics, hospitals (including infectious diseases hospitals), maternity wards, medical and nursing assistance, health department, road cleaning, garbage collection. |

All questions related to markets and gardens |

Legal Committee |
Questions arising regarding the administration of the Municipal Corporation, the interpretation of the provisions of the Municipal Corporation Act and other Acts, Bye-laws, Regulations, Rules and amendments thereto. |

Labour and Social Welfare Committee |
To work towards the welfare of the workers of the Municipal Corporation and also to try to help the local working class for entertainment and to make similar facilities available to the general working class. |

Women and Child Welfare Committee |
Works related to the Women and Child Welfare Department. |

Internal Grievance Committee(Vishakha Committee) |
The Act provides for the protection of women from sexual harassment at work place, prevention of sexual harassment and redressal of such complaints, compensation, investigation and appropriate action against the concerned perpetrator/respondent through the Internal Grievance Committee.

The functioning of all the above-mentioned meetings/committees is carried out in accordance with the Maharashtra Municipal Corporation Act and as per the instructions of the Government from time to time.
